Grades 5 through 8

Student placement in the Accelerated Math program is based on Iowa Test of Basic Skills scores, classroom grades, & teacher and principal referral.

Fifth and sixth grades students use the grade-appropriate text book and move at an accelerated pace, preparing students to complete the Pre-Algebra curriculum in 7th grade and the Algebra I curriculum in 8th grade.

The Accelerated Math student may test out of Algebra I in high school, having already completed that curriculum.
