Accelerated Math Program
Advanced Mathematics Pathway
Our Accelerated Math program provides an advanced pathway for students who demonstrate exceptional aptitude in mathematics. Fifth and sixth grade students progress through grade-level textbooks at an expedited pace, building a strong foundation for higher-level coursework.
This accelerated schedule enables students to complete Pre-Algebra during 7th grade and Algebra I by 8th grade, positioning them ahead of their peers as they enter high school.
Placement Criteria
- Iowa Test of Basic Skills scores
- Classroom grades in mathematics
- Teacher and principal referral
Accelerated Math Pathway
High School Advantage
Participating students may have the option to test out of Algebra I in high school, since they will have already completed that coursework in middle school. This gives them a head start on advanced mathematics courses and opens doors to higher-level classes earlier in their high school career.
