Theater Programs at RCS
Our performing arts programs give students at every grade level the opportunity to explore the magic of theater. From learning stage basics to performing in full-scale productions, every child can discover their inner star.
Our Programs
Broadway Beginners
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
An introduction to the wonderful world of theater! Young performers learn stage presence, basic choreography, singing, and the joy of performing in a fun, supportive environment.
Rehearsals
The first rehearsal for the students will be TUESDAY OCTOBER 13th, after school till 4:30pm. We will show some of the Jungle Book Movie, play some theater games, and allow them to get familiar with the program. Then we ask them to come back on WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 14th after school till 4:30pm for the “audition”. It will be more games and singing and not like a typical one on one audition. We want students to have fun and not be nervous.
- We will then have our first rehearsal on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20th after school till 4:30pm and repeat weekly on Tuesday after school until 4:30pm.
- We will add in Thursday afternoons after Christmas Break.
- Pick-up this year will be out in the front parking lot, until we move to the gym - I will send an update!
- There may be some rehearsals that not all cast members will be called to and we will hand out a full rehearsal schedule on 10/20.
- This year we will also have a Class Dojo with all music and dance links for rehearsal at home as well as any updates or changes you will need to know.
Performances will be Saturday, February 20th at 2pm and Sunday February 21st at 2pm.
The cost for the program will be $75. That will cover the cost of some costumes, props and a show tshirt. Any questions please email Jrenbjor@rcscherryhill. Parents may need to provide other costume pieces.
Broadway Kids
3rd - 5th Grade
Take the stage with confidence! Intermediate performers develop their acting, singing, and dancing skills while working together to put on an exciting show for family and friends.
Middle School Musical
6th - 8th Grade
Our flagship theater program! Students audition for roles in a full-scale musical production with professional-quality sets, costumes, and choreography. Past shows include beloved Broadway favorites.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a fee to participate?
Yes, there is a participation fee to cover costumes, materials, and production costs. Financial assistance is available for families who need it.
Do students need prior experience?
No experience needed! Our programs welcome beginners. Broadway Beginners and Broadway Kids are designed to teach fundamentals from the ground up.
When are rehearsals held?
Rehearsals are typically held after school, 1-2 days per week. A detailed schedule is provided after registration closes.
Is there an audition for Middle School Musical?
Yes, students in grades 6-8 audition for specific roles. However, everyone who signs up is cast in the show - no one is turned away!
