Emergency Day Plan (K-2)

When we need to use an emergency day (such as for weather or unexpected closures), our school will switch to a short-term learning plan.

How Learning Will Work

  • Students will bring home three emergency day packets during the year
  • Each packet has about 2 hours of review work that students can complete on their own
  • Students should complete the packet assigned for the emergency day and return it the next school day

Teacher Availability

  • Teachers will be available by email from 8:30-10:30 AM to help with any questions

Attendance

  • Students are marked present only if the packet is completed and returned the following school day

Program Overview

Nurturing a Love for Learning

The Primary program at Resurrection Catholic strives to nurture the young child by instilling a love for learning that will serve as a foundation for future academic experiences. Students participate in a variety of learning activities that are active, integrated, and developmentally appropriate. Learning centers and cooperative learning activities stress the philosophy that young children learn best through active exploration and appropriate interactions with others.

Our Mathematics program is designed to emphasize conceptual understanding while building a mastery of basic skills. This strong content base in mathematics explores the full spectrum, not just arithmetic. Problem solving, communication, mathematical connections, and reasoning are the skills promoted throughout the year.

The Language Arts program is the foundation of academic instruction in the Catholic elementary school. Retaining our Catholic identity is critical in the selection of reading and writing materials we utilize with the students. Success in all areas of learning relies on competency in the four areas of language: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students have weekly classes in computer, art, library, physical education, music, and Spanish.
