Principal Keeley’s Take on Giving Day

March 29, 2026

Good Afternoon, RCS Families,

You may be wondering why we hold a Giving Day at Resurrection Catholic School. Simply put, Giving Day allows us to enhance our programs and expand our curriculum beyond what our standard budget can provide.

Thanks to a donation of a very generous supporter, we have recently added two 3D printers, 35 3D pens, 30 robotics kits, and $6,000 worth of Vernier scientific equipment and recreated our new school website. Even more exciting, money raised during Giving Day will be matched, doubling the impact of your support. This not only helps us meet essential budget needs, but also allows us to continue improving and updating key areas of our school.

Our focal point is to strengthen our science and technology programs while providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that go beyond screen time. Tools like 3D printers/pens and robotics encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These projects promote student ownership of learning by fostering brainstorming, collaboration, and perseverance through challenges.

Technology at RCS also enhances safety, increases student engagement, and helps prepare our children for the future. It shifts the classroom dynamic—empowering students to take responsibility for their learning, while teachers serve as guides and facilitators. This approach builds confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of complex concepts.

Giving Day also plays a critical role in supporting our school’s operating needs by helping to bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of education. We recognize and deeply appreciate the sacrifices our families make through tuition, time, and talent. We are equally grateful for the continued support of our parish. Giving Day strengthens this partnership and ensures we can continue providing an exceptional Catholic education.

Funds raised will support a wide range of initiatives, including:

  • Expanding our Resource Program
  • Enhancing our Catholic Identity through partnerships and programming
  • Strengthening school safety and security
  • Growing after-school opportunities, such as robotics and LEGO clubs
  • Updating textbooks, curriculum materials, and classroom resources

Giving Day is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together as a community. It allows us to grow, innovate, and continue to grow in excellence, opportunity and become a Catholic school of destination.

I ask you to please consider making a donation. Every gift—no matter the size—makes a difference and brings us closer to our goal of $50,000 for our Annual Fund. You may do so online here.

Thank you for your continued support, your commitment to our school, and the sacrifices you make to provide a Catholic education for your children. We are truly blessed to be part of such a strong and faith-filled community.

God bless all that you do.

He is Risen!
