Good morning RCS families,

I hope your weekend is filled with love, laughter, and relaxation.

Today, I would like to share a simple yet powerful practice: praying with our children. It is an act that costs nothing, yet offers immeasurable rewards. Praying together helps build a lasting foundation of faith, strengthens emotional bonds, and teaches our children to turn to God for comfort and guidance.

When we pray with our children, we help them develop a personal relationship with God. They learn how to pray, begin to trust in Him, and understand that they are never alone—especially during life’s challenges. Prayer also helps children recognize God’s presence in their daily lives, providing them with a moral compass and a source of strength that will guide them for years to come.

Our children benefit greatly from being part of a community rooted in prayer. We can never pray enough as we strive to do God’s work. Through prayer, we lay the foundation for them to grow into strong Catholics, prepared to face the many challenges they will encounter—both in life and in their faith. At times, they may be influenced by those who do not share these beliefs, which makes this foundation even more important.

Prayer fosters spiritual resilience, brings emotional peace, and helps children cope with stress and anxiety while developing self-control. Most importantly, it opens the door for ongoing conversation with God. It becomes an anchor during the storms of life.

I encourage you to pray often, talk with God, and most importantly, pray with your children. Prayer nurtures humility and love—and we can all benefit from a little more of both.

Wishing you a blessed week,

John W. Keeley-Principal
